Combicarrier
- combined scoop stretcher and rescue board
The combicarrier is a new break apart scoop stretcher which doubles as a rescue board.
Cost:       about £400
Advantages: 
- easier to apply and remove than a conventional scoop
- space saving as it avoids the need to store a separate scoop and rescue board
- lightweight
- curved body avoids pressure on the spine
- does not buckle when lifting patients
Disadvantages:
- longer than the metal scoop stretchers
Verdict
- an excellent piece of kit which makes the metal scoop stretcher obsolete
